This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in a suburban area of Ventura, CA. We are a diverse student body that celebrates the differences in each other. Our school promotes kindness, responsibility, inclusion, and hard work.

I teach a group of 22 super sweet, smart, and squirmy second and third graders.

They are enthusiast about learning and devour new information quickly. They never cease to amaze me at how quickly they pick up difficult concepts and skills. My students are learning to solve problems and persevere.

My Project

Students who have a lot of "wiggles" will be able to squirm and shift as needed without disrupting the learning environment and burn energy while they do it! Using a wobble chair in the classroom will be a way to sneak in some extra physical fitness to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. By building students' core strength, their posture will improve. For my students who have behavior issues stemming from ADD/ADHD, using wobble chairs will allow them to move as needed and improve their focus.

I ask my students to remain focused while working and these chairs will help my students achieve that goal.
