My Students

My 21 student first grade inclusion class includes regular education students and special education students in a co-teacher setting. Many of our children love to move while they work. Whether it's standing, kneeling, or rocking in their chairs, they focus best when moving. We love that they have so much energy!

Our school is a wonderful place where the students come first.

With focus on their needs that allow us to help them be the best person possible, we are able to help them build strong foundations and then build upon those roots as they move forward.

My Project

We are writing today on behalf of some fidgety first grade students. Our class of 21 students, includes both regular education and special education students. Our students love to move around while they are working, but right now this means rocking in their 4-legged chairs which can fall over easily and isn’t safe. We would like to give our first graders the opportunity to rock safely while working and keep their minds focused on their work. The wobble chair allows students to stay seated and safely rock and turn without fear of falling over. The Wobble Chair will help with student focus because they can move their bodies and be physically occupied while allowing their brain to continue its focus on the academic task at hand. We are asking for 10 chairs to afford this physical movement to multiple students at once who are in need at that moment. The Wobble Chair can be used for years to come with students who need to move their bodies to help keep their brains focused.
