Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine students that are coming into your classroom behind but not defeated.
Picture students who don't "have it all", but they come with the desire to gain as much knowledge as possible.
Half of these smiling faces are struggling to make it to grade level standards. The other half are soaring above grade expectations and need to be challenged.
All of these students need to guided to reach their highest potential.
I strive to be the guide they need everyday!
My Project
Some kids can sit quietly and work...but a lot don't! I do have a few of those in my classroom that prefer to sit at their desk and complete their work. One student, "H", comes to mind. No matter how many different seating options you provide this little person with, they will always choose their desk.
Then there is "J", every teacher has a "J" in their classroom every year.
This little person can't work with "H". They need to be constantly moving whether they are working independently or in a group. I love them both equally, but "J" needs a little more from me to provide him with a proper work space. This year, I have more than one "J" and I would like to provide them with an alternative. However my mobile kiddos need something slightly more stable than roly-poly balls. I have tried that already with little success. Kids have ended up on the floor or use them like they would a trampoline. Being able to purchase some Wobbly Chairs will provide a safe outlet for my kiddos to Wiggle Their Willies out in a very productive and safe way.
