My students need is to WOBBLE while they WORK... but in all seriousness I have some wiggles kids that would work so much better if I gave them alternatives while they were learning.
My 2nd grade class is full of passion and enthusiasm. Each student has such a big heart. My students are full of energy and love to move. They love to engage in learning while being able to move around.
I want to make sure that I set my students up for success as I provide a creative and innovative space for them to learn.
I teach at a Title I school in Loomis, California. A Title I school provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
My Project
The flexible seating will change the learning space for our classroom! I am asking for Wobble Chairs, Balance Ball Chairs, Wobble Cushions, and plastic stack stools. Almost everyday a student is asking if they can move around, work while laying on the carpet, etc. I need to give these students alternatives for their work environments.
Each student is UNIQUE and works best in their OWN space.
If I have options for flexible seating, I can give my students CHOICE. I want them to be able to feel comfortable while learning. I want to empower the students to make a decision. I believe this will help students focus and reach their potential.
