My students are creative and clever learners who come to school ready to learn each day. The student population of my school comes from military and low-income families. Some of them face a variety of challenges both in and out of school that make daily learning difficult. My students deserve to come to a place every day that is nurturing, welcoming and safe. My goal is to provide them with a classroom that shows them they are loved and cared for.
My Project
Forcing students to sit still all day is so overrated. The students in my classroom have a variety of learning styles and needs. Sitting still for long periods of time can be very difficult for them. Many of my students struggle to stay focused throughout the day. I want to provide my students with a variety of seating choices so that they have the option to choose what works best for them as an individual student. The wobble stools will provide my students with options to release energy, be more engaged in learning and participate in classroom activities. Additionally this will give me the opportunity to meet each of their learning styles and needs.
