Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
School starts on August 1, so I have not met my precious students yet. I would love to have a warm, inviting, functional classroom ready for them. Our school is a Title 1 school where the students will greatly benefit from a nurturing atmosphere that meets their needs. I love working with children and helping them understand how valuable they are and how they can learn and grow and make a difference in the world. I am excited to create a wonderful learning environment for them!
My Project
Wobble stools help energetic students expend extra energy so they can stay focused and learn. Research shows that hyperactive students are able to learn and concentrate better when they can move rather than sit still. I would love for my students to have the opportunity to use these high-quality wobble stools each day. This has great potential application within the world of special needs. For some children, their brains have a hard time processing where their body is in space. To compensate, their bodies stay in constant motion to give the brain the feedback to understand. Wobble stools do not allow students to slump in their seat and be sedentary. The vast possibilities of movement allow children to find the best spot for their posture.
