Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom consists of 29 inner-city students with nine of them being autistic and an additional six who are English language learners. My school is an inner-city, Title I school. My students are from various ethnic backgrounds. A large majority of my students come from non-English speaking families.

My school does not have available funding to purchase materials that are needed to meet the needs of my special education students and English language learners.

My students are highly motivated and eager to learn. If given the proper resources, they would be given the chance to be as successful as students in the surrounding suburbs.

My Project

My students would benefit greatly with flexible seating within the classroom which would allow them to be more actively engaged during lessons.

I am requesting two wobble chairs to assist students with ADHD.

The wobble chair's gently rounded ergonomic base allows children to move and flex without leaving their seat. Wobble seats will aid students in their concentration, as these seats increase blood flow to the brain and thereby quiets the requirement for fidgety kids to move. Struggling children will be able to learn by using this wobble chair because they will have the opportunity to be "active" while learning.
