My students need eight active learning stools that let them wiggle as they learn.
My students are elementary English Language Learners Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Their home languages include Hmong, Spanish and Somali.
My students are endlessly energetic and enthusiastic about their learning, with a wealth of knowledge and experience that they bring from their different cultural backgrounds.
They get so excited when they can make a connection between what they are learning at school and their home languages and cultures, and they teach me as much as I teach them. I am lucky to learn so much from them every day.
My students spend so much of their day sitting. Sitting in chairs, sitting on the carpet, sitting at lunch tables. Dedicated time for recess and movement is limited in the packed schedule of the school day, and it's difficult for my students to learn as they squirm on hard chairs that don't fit them and aren't made to meet the needs of their energetic little bodies. In the short time that I teach groups in my classroom I'm able to give them some breaks from sitting, but not nearly enough. I am asking for eight Learniture Active Learning Stools.
Wobble stools will allow my students to get out some of their wiggles and sit more comfortably, so they can better focus on their learning.
Learning and moving don't need to be separate activities.
