My students need wobble cushions to be able to get wiggles out while they are learning. Students can use the wobble cushions on the floor for work time or during lessons as well as their desk!
I teach in an urban Indianapolis school and have 25 students in my 1st grade classroom. My class is a mixture of Hispanic, multi-racial, African-American and Caucasian students as well as students with special needs. My children are considered high-risk because of the low social-economic status of their families. Over 85% of the school’s student body qualifies for free lunch.
Every students deserves the opportunity to learn the way they learn best.
My students need flexible seating in order to maximize learning and engagement. They come to school everyday eager to learn and be apart of our classroom community. This project allows for each student to select the best learning environment for them.
My Project
Think about a 6 or 7 year old that you know? They all have a lot of energy and need engaging tasks to keep them focused. Wobble cushions will help with just that. My students will be able to select to sit on a wobble cushion throughout the day if they need to wiggle while they learn. Need help focusing during a lesson? Sit on a wobble cushion! Want to sit on the floor while you work? Get a wobble cushion! Having a difficult time sitting still at your desk? Get a wobble cushion!!
