Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a diverse group of fourth-grade students from a small farming community in northern California. We do not allow our financial backgrounds or differences to hold us back from achieving our goals. We are part of the No Excuses University program.
Our public school has a large number of free or reduced-price lunch students.
Many students are not able to bring much-needed supplies from home in order to be successful in school. We enjoy reading, writing, doing math, as well as learning about science, history, and technology.
My Project
We are a class of 32 active 9 and 10 year olds who have a love for learning. Problem is... many students struggle to focus during instruction. Wobble Cushions may just be the perfect fit! This will help energetic and unfocused students use up that excess energy on these cushions in an appropriate way, in order to not disrupt other students by fidgeting or rocking in their chairs during a lesson.
"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn."
I am hopeful that providing the outlet they may need will help to keep them focused during those times we need to stay in our seats. We all have something we need to do that helps us focus, and students are no different. We would love the opportunity to wobble to get our wiggles out and excel in our learning!
