My Students
I teach an excitable group of bilingual second graders. They show up to class every day ready to learn, participate and have fun. Together we learn to meditate, create art and take care of classroom plants along with our regular classroom learning.
Our school is in Dallas and nearly all students come from low-income households.
Despite the many setbacks my students face, they greet me every day with a smile and they inspire me to do right by them.
I see so much potential in them from the things they work on at home and bring back to school. Whether it's a bridge made out of popsicle sticks, a Carnival-inspired mask or a thoughtfully written letter, they are awesome!
My Project
Pencils need sharpening every day and the electric pencil sharpener will help us keep our pencil game on point. The wet erase markers will be used for our All In Learning answers sheets. They'll help cut down on printing so many paper answer sheets. The magnetic erasers will help us quickly erase our answers, on our mini white boards, during the teacher's Check for Understanding lighting rounds.
The Flex-Space Wobble Cushions will help us stay focused and in the game while we sit at our desks doing some of the teacher's more tedious tasks like extended writing sessions.
We can easily move them from our desks to the floor so we can wiggle and wobble no matter where we're doing our learning.
Finally, the supply caddies will help us keep all of our classroom supplies organized and neat at our group tables for every day use.
