Wobble Chairs for Wiggly Kids: Students Need to Move!
My students need these alternative seats to allow them to move and expel their energy while at my small groups table and on the computers during stations. This will also help them with their posture!
This year I received ZERO school supplies from my students and their families, not because they didn't want to provide for their children, but because they can not afford it. The families that are at my school are socioeconomically poor, live in a high crime and gang influenced area, and some are even homeless.
Most of my students' families are struggling to put food on the table, wash their children's clothes or provide basic needs.
I have bought everything my 18 kids need this year; their pencils, paper, notebooks, headphones, crayons, colored pencils, markers, folders, reading bags, and I would do it all again, because my kids are worth it! They deserve every learning opportunity that I can possibly give them. I love them.
My Project
There is direct link between body movement and learning! These wobble chairs will provide my students the opportunity to move and expel their energy during stations. So much of a student's day is spent sitting, these chairs allows them to move and get their blood flowing!
Third graders like to move when learning, Plus, what student doesn't need help with their posture!
Classrooms that are exciting and engaging help encourage students to want to learn. These chairs have a "cool factor", and my third graders will reap the benefits of using them during my small group lessons, and when on the computer.
