My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures, but one thing that brings them all together is their love for school and their passion for learning. They come to school anticipating those "ah ha" moments, and it's my job as their teacher to provide that for them. They are not only learning to become more knowledgeable, but they are learning to become well-rounded, productive members of their communities.
They are observers, scholars, listeners, communicators, and most importantly they are passionate with everything they do.
I believe the right environment can help elicit more knowledge, more thinking, and more learning. I come to school every day with an appreciation for their "want" for more!
My Project
This year I am responsible for meeting the needs of second and third grade students. This means, double the teaching and double the learning. My students would benefit from flexible seating options as they have to find ways to independently stay focused on their curriculum. Just as not every student learns the same, every student shouldn't be expected to stay in one spot during the course of a school day.
With having some more comfortable or physically appropriate options my students will be able to better stay engaged on their grade level curriculum.
With the help of generous donors I will be able to provide more seating options to make every day learning more successful.
