Wobble Baby Seating for Better Time on Task

My Students

I am a teacher in a low income school district. All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. As you can imagine these children have challenges at home and as well as at school. Despite the majority living in poverty, they come to school everyday with good attendance, eager to learn and so excited for what the day holds. Manipulatives and hands-on activities are what drives our classroom. The more engaging the activity the better the results. However, sometimes even the most engaging lesson can be hard for some students to learn. They come to school with disabilities that make it extremely difficult to sit still and be attentive. The normal classroom chairs do not provide the stimulation they need to stay engaged. Wobble chairs would provide the movement these students need whole enabling them to stay on task to the lesson.

My Project

Some students have great difficulty remaining seated in standard chairs traditionally found in classrooms. Many students rock back and forth, scoot the chair around the floor.. doing anything to be able to MOVE a bit during the school day.

Having Wobble Chairs would delight those fidgety students and create a climate more conducive to listening.

These chairs would offer ease of movement during lessons where students could simply rock back and forth without disturbing others. We have all heard the scraping sounds of chairs being pushed around the tile floor. Instruction is missed and time is wasted repeating directions for all when the scraping noises and the movement impede the instructional day.

Wobble chairs would allow at least one distraction of the school day to be eliminated. Please help us in securing our Wobble "Baby" seating!
