Help me give my students ergonomic stools that encourage them to make small movements that help with circulation, breathing, and keeping their mind more alert and focused while learning.
My students are warm, fun, interesting, hard working individuals who learn just a little differently than the average kid. They need to move, stand, sit, fidget, make noises, all in one lesson in order to process the information that they are learning. Caring, kind, bright, special...these are my students.
The way people learn is as unique as their fingerprints, and my students each make their own fingerprints in their learning.
My students are the hardest working kiddos in the school (I might be a bit biased in that opinion). When I ask them to try, they put forth their very best effort. I tell my students everyday, I don't ask for perfection, I ask for progress. Progress is how we learn.
My Project
My students thrive on sensory input to be able to focus on their personal learning. Many of my students have ADHD along with other disabilities, like processing disorders, which make sitting and paying attention to a lesson difficult. My students struggle with being able to seek sensory input while processing the lesson that is being taught.
These ergonomic stools will encourage my students to make small movements that help with circulation, breathing, and keeping their mind more alert and focused while learning.
My students will also benefit by building better sitting habits when they’re young. Unlike our classroom stability balls, the ErgoErgo Stools look cool and won’t roll away. My students will benefit greatly from the ErgoErgo stools because they will allow my students to meet their sensory input needs while maintaining their focus on learning.
The donations for this project will improve my classroom by reducing the amount of behavioral issues, because I will be able to provide the appropriate stimulation that my students need while learning, due to their disabilities.
