My Students

I work in an inclusion classroom which helps develop the social, emotional, and academic skills of Westfield Middle School students. I focus on building a positive and supportive classroom community where all students feel comfortable and successful!

The students in my classroom are active and enthusiastic learners - wobble chairs will help them channel their energies towards their classwork!

I truly believe that all children want to do their best and be successful, but sometimes they struggle to maintain focus for long periods of time. I know that my students will benefit greatly from seating which allows their bodies and minds to move at the same time.

My Project

The five wobble chairs which I have requested will help my most energetic students stay focused and engaged. These chairs are specifically designed to allow students to move and fidget their bodies while remaining on-task.

Sitting in traditional chairs for the length of a school day is a real challenge for most middle schoolers. Many of my students take advantage of movement breaks throughout the day, but these breaks are not enough for all students. When active students are given flexible seating, they are able to spend more time focused on their studies. If they are able to continuously move while remaining seated, they also feel more relaxed and comfortable in the classroom. These chairs will help my students remain work-ready throughout the day!
