My students need seating that allows them to move, learn, and grow. For many students wobble chairs provide students a way to get their wiggles out while remaining focused and engaged.

My Students
My students are 2nd graders in the Dual Language program at our Title 1 school (meaning curriculum is presented in Spanish 80% of the day). I have 20 students who come from generally lower socioeconomic areas and living situations. There are 10 native Spanish and 10 native English speakers in this class. These students are hardworking, determined, and curious learners.
For many of the students, our classroom is the safest and most comforting place to be due to rough living situations.
The school is located in a low socioeconomic area making it difficult for students and families to access quality school supplies and resources.
My Project
Students will be using the wobble chairs every day. All 20 students will be able to utilize the chairs over the course of each month. Students will use the chairs during individual work time, group time, and as needed throughout the school year.
These wobble chairs allow students to move and get their energy out while keeping them in the class and helping them engage in their learning.
It is extremely hard for 2nd graders to sit still in a classroom for an extended period of time. This allows students to wiggle and learn, improving their classroom experience and their academic achievement.
