My Students

I work in a title school where we do everything we can to help make our students successful. We want them to understand that they all can achieve their dreams. Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend, and our school also qualifies for free breakfast and lunch through our title program. They have hard home lives, but my students are eager to come to school, learn, and do their best. They want to be in school because they love the safe environment and the excitement of learning. I have been told many times that my students feel like school is an escape for them. They have a place they can be kids, and enjoy the love of learning with their friends!

My Project

I am hoping to buy wobble chairs. This seating option will give students the chance to pick what type of seating is the most comfortable and enticing to them. Multiple seating options will help my classroom because flexible seating has proven to increase student responsibility and learning.

It gives students the responsibility to make good decisions, be organized with supplies, and be an advocate for their own learning.

When their bodies are more comfortable, their minds are more focused. It also promotes more movement in the classroom which has a direct relationship to learning and achievement.

Between the seating options and the added movement to the classroom, academic achievement has the ability to soar!
