My students need pencils, primary writing paper, and white boards to practice letter formation, spelling words, writing sentences, and opinion and research papers.
Energetic and eager are two descriptive words to describe the students that I teach. Students who are thirsty for knowledge and want to know how to make connections from what they learn in school to the world. My students take great pride in their school and the education they are recieving by working hard in and out of the classroom setting. My students come from a small town in rural Arkansas. The population of our town is smaller in size, but it acts as one large family when students are involved. I love my students and our community!
My Project
In first grade, students are putting their skills together. They are still learning how to form a sentence and that they can communicate with other through writing. I need the white boards to help my students practice in word study how to spell words correctly. I will also use the white boards for them to practice writing sentences. We will edit those on their boards,too.
The lined paper will be used to write letters to friends, opinion pieces when responding to a book, and for research papers.
While some can write on wide rule paper, most at the beginning of the year are still working on that transition of print size.
