This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are still experiencing the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. I’m a first-year teacher taking over a classroom in the second semester. A majority of my students lost everything during Hurricane Harvey. We have no portable electronic devices to help promote growth and to make learning fun again! Children learn and understand things quicker through the use of technology. My students will benefit from the tablets. By being able to work independently on things they find interesting while enhancing their literacy skills!
My Project
We are requesting four tablets that will be used to open up so many doors to different learning styles for my students. My students will be able to have a choice how they want to learn. They will be able to work independently to explore new learning opportunities! My students have been through so much these last few months and I would like to use the source to give them a feeling of being in a normal learning environment. Harvey was devastating to this community. These students deserve so much and I just want to be the voice for them and see the smile on their faces knowing that they’re learning through while playing!
