Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Last school year, I taught a 5th grade general education class which contained 24 students. This following school year I will be teaching 2nd grade! I couldn't be more excited. My students thus far have been truly amazing and so eager to learn.
My 25 second grader scholars attend public school in a diverse working-class neighborhood in Queens NY.
My students have unique minds and abilities.
They amaze me every day! They work hard and push past obstacles. They have days that are more difficult than others, but they always manage to get a smile back onto their faces!
My Project
My goal is to build a classroom that is rich in conversation, collaboration, and community. From a morning message that greets my students as they walk in the door, to displaying our weekly reading stories and displaying math talks, a new easel will allow my students to engage equally with new academic content in a small group setting. This easel is mobile and will allow me to hang chart paper and pocket charts, as well as write messages.
With this easel, I will be able to develop lessons that are engaging and relevant to my students.
My students will have an interactive learning experience with this easel!
