Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My look forward to coming to class. When they come to my class they know they are walking into a safe, educated, clean atmosphere. These children are very determined, bright, and compassionate about their school work.

They have the will-power, determination, and compassion to do great things!

The student care deeply about one another. They are very helpful to one another. When they notice someone is not understanding the material they are willing to give up their time to help them better understand what is being asked. They are determined to help educate themselves to move onto the next grade.

As a Title I school in the suburbs I see them rising above all others in making their dreams come true. The best thing they do is believe in themselves and others. I see them making a change for our school, community, and state. They will succeed in passing anything that is thrown their way and move onto better things.

The compassion, determination, and will power these students have will lead them to learning more, becoming more, and most of all love each other more.

My Project

Having the Easel will allow my students to participate with reading, writing, and sharing together. They will be able to use magnetic letters to build High-Frequency words. They will be able to practice hand writing skills. And they will be able to share valuable information with each other on a subject. They will be able to work in a small group to figure out the math question on a dry erase board at arms reach for them. Most of the boards in the classroom are hard for them to reach because they are placed so high, and them being 1st graders, they can barely reach.

This will be a highly effective tool they will be able to use for all subjects.

It would be used during reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. During reading we can place our store of the day on it and do a read a-loud. During writing we would be able to create "Thinking Maps" on chart paper that the students will be able to refer back to on multiple accounts. It would be used during math to allow students to answer problems using magnetic manipulatives they can reach at comfortably.

This would be a great piece to add to my classroom to allow the students to use. It will allow them to work independently or in a group setting in a comfortable arms reach.
