My Students

My students enjoy Daily Five as part of their day and there are many resources that they are able to use during this time. Finding space and organization is key to keeping the centers flowing without kids getting confused where everything is.

My classroom consists of 25 energetic first graders who are eager to learn each day.

With our class sizes being so large, we are always looking for ways to organize our room to make it more effective. My goal as a teacher is to keep noise and distractions out of our room so that we are maximizing our learning time!

My Project

My goal is to build a classroom that is rich in conversation, collaboration, and community. From a morning message that greets my students as they walk in the door, to shared readings, poems, songs, and math talks, a new easel will allow all of my students to engage equally with new academic content. This easel is mobile and will allow me to hang chart paper and pocket charts, as well as write messages. With a new easel, my students will be able to come up and share their ideas, discover new information, and add on or ask questions of their classmates. Over time, they will be able to pass the pen to one another and take charge of their own independent learning.
