With One Easel and Some Cushions, We Can Learn Together

Help me give my students soft alternative seating and a a place to hold our weekly reading stories, which are large books.

My Project

I have a classroom of 16 eager to read and energetic kindergarteners. They love to get out of their seats and be able to sit closer to the story. It is also a struggle to hold the large books and charts for them while I am reading to them.

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them, while the easel will help display large books and so much more.

The majority of my students are from low income families and are extremely excited to have a new large book read to them. They can see the print and the pictures easily if they are able to sit closer. An easel to hold the story while I read to them would be a game changer!

By having an easel I will be able to use it during our morning message, write amazing words they come up with on it and hold are large story books that we read that go with our reading series. The cushions would also be used during our reading centers. They get to move around the room and complete various centers. The easel and the cushions will make a difference in helping to make learning even more fun for my kids! Although they do get tickled watching me struggle to hold the large reading books.
