Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These are definitely challenging times. Never did we imagine that when we goodbye in March that it would be our last day in the classroom. However, the year is not over, yet!
We have embarked on the distance learning journey together!
We are actively engaging in many different online platforms and learning new things. We participate everyday in Zoom meetings to answer questions, go over any new material, and check in with each other. I also record lessons at home for them to view and continue to learn new material. We are in this together, trying to learn all of these new technologies.
My Project
I enjoy reading books and sharing stories with my students daily. Some students are easily distracted by the noises of their other family members in their new learning environments. They do not all have access to working headphones. I would like to continue sharing this way during this time of distance learning.
Right now, the majority of my students do not have their own headphones and struggle to focus with many distractions.
I would LOVE to give each of my students a set of their own flexible (hopefully indestructible) headphones and a set of sanitary covers for them to use.
I know my students will love this new addition to our distance learning Zoom meetings, and they will then have a set of headphones to help with their own distance learning environment. I also hope this will entice them to want to work more on all the digital centers and practice we have created!
