Help me give my students a welcoming and organized independent reading nook by providing some shelving options and cozy flexible seating, as well as some new and exciting books for the classroom library.
My students are curious, motivated, and hungry for learning. Just the other day, in fact, one student said "he's as hungry as a tiger" for learning! My kids come from diverse backgrounds and have huge personalities and each and every day I look forward to seeing what they will say. They are determined to succeed in middle school and beyond, and wholeheartedly embrace a growth mindset. I feel truly lucky to be their teacher, and hope that I am able to provide an enriching environment for them to grow.
My Project
I am so lucky to be able to teach a wonderful group of 7th and 8th graders at our middle school! In my English language arts and literacy lab classes, my goal is to allow all students to succeed at whatever they endeavor to accomplish, and one of the most powerful ways to do that is to give them a wide variety of reading experiences.
My students voraciously zoom through the books in my classroom library, and lively discussions about what new books we'd like to read happen daily.
I would very much love to update the books in my classroom library with new and well-loved titles, and to create a nook with alternative seating (because everyone knows that it's more fun to read when you are not at your desk!)
