With an Easel, We Can... Read, Write, and Share Together!
My students need an easel, area rug, and comfortable chair for flexible seating to maximize their learning and engagement. These items will help me enhance and incorporate morning meeting into our daily routine!
I am a third grade teacher at a low-income public school in North Syracuse, New York. This upcoming school year will be my first year teaching third grade in a new but old school , and I am very excited! This is a Title One school in need of major improvements and materials as it hasn't been renovated in over 20+ years. In order to be an effective and responsive teacher, I need an easel that will meet my class' needs.I also need an area rug for flexible seating during reading, writing and math. It is my goal to help make students comfortable and motivated during their learning throughout each and every day. The easel I am requesting has two dry erase boards, is magnetic, has tubs for storage, and holds big books. Having a two sided easel with magnetic dry erase boards will be an amazing teaching tool.I can prepare multiple activities and provide students with the opportunity to work on various tasks.I am excited to give them this engaging opportunity for morning messages, reading, writing, math, social studies and science all while seated on a comfortable classroom rug that we do not have. Thank you for your consideration!
My Project
The materials that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The large carpet will be placed in the back of the classroom and used as a gathering place during mini-lessons, share time and independent reading. The "camping" chair will be used as part of my flexible seating option, where students can choose where to sit during independent classwork and reading time to maximize their motivation, engagement and comfort! Who doesn't love to be comfortable while building stamina in reading and writing!
The donations for this project will also help build the foundation for morning meetings, writing workshop and small and whole group instruction for reading, writing and math with the use of an easel.
This is the first classroom I have been in that does not have an easel. I have always used an easel to hold anchor charts, supplies, teaching tools, and guide morning meetings and instruction. By having these materials and teaching tools in the classroom, I believe I can reach student's full learning potentials. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thank you so much!
