This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-year teacher and I adore my students so much! They have huge hearts and the desire to accomplish anything they set their minds to! I can’t wait to see what they can do by the end of our year together, but for now, I am loving the chance to teach them everything they need to know for first grade! They deserve the world and I’m so thankful to have some help giving that to my students!

We are a growing community and as a first year teacher, it gets hard to keep up with the demands of a growing classroom.

My students are so wonderful at welcoming a new student into our class and allowing them to grow into blossoming first graders.

My Project

Having a carpet that can fit all of my students would be a huge blessing in my classroom. We are big on carpet time and learning out of our chairs. I want a space where they can get cozy and listen to a read aloud or get up with our Zoo Phonics and not worry about being on top of their neighbor. Right now, my carpet can fit 20, but it's snug. I have 24 students and our numbers are expected to grow even larger as the school year continues.

My students are my world and seeing them thrive is something that every teacher wants.

A new rug that fits us all would give my students a chance to be with everyone and nobody would have to feel singled out.
