Muhammad Ali said it best when he said, "Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
With iPads in our classroom, impossible is nothing!
Students will learn the endless possibilities that technology can bring to a classroom. We are a classroom of 17 kindergarten students and are one of three kindergarten classes in a K-8 county school that strives to provide the best educational experience possible for students and their families. These resources will also benefit the other two kindergarten classrooms during technology classes and school-wide testing and will also benefit our after school Computer Science Club with programming.
My Project
With these iPads and cases, our students will be able to get hands-on learning. They will be able to learn skills related to the technology field such as digital citizenship, basic computer skills, and coding. Students will also be able to document and publish their learning, access reading and math curricula online that includes books and materials that differentiate language and math to their needs, and also explore applications that incorporate language, math, art, music, science, and social studies.
These iPads will make an enormous difference in our classroom.
These resources will teach the students how to use technology effectively and ethically and aid in our school's after school Computer Science Club that is learning programming through iPads and robotics. They will also give students the opportunity to document and share their learning with family near and far and use a different modality to learn. With this completed DonorsChoose project, we will have a class set of iPads allowing for a one to one iPad to student ratio in our classroom.
