My Students

Art class is not just a creative outlet for my students; it is a door to another universe where their unique skills and interests are highlighted. They get to express themselves in new ways and find a voice for their passions through their artwork.

The best part of my job is seeing a student surprised by their own work, discovering that they can draw or add depth or amaze an audience with their creation.

My school is located on the Little Rock Air Force Base, and over 50% of my students are military dependents. We also serve the local Jacksonville, AR community, and 100% of our school population receives free lunch. We are a Title I school.

My Project

There is nothing quite like brushing vibrant watercolor onto a fresh piece of paper. With Spring on its way to Arkansas, I want to take my students outside to paint the beautiful landscapes that surround our school. Only a short walk away are soft fields of grass and peaceful ponds.

I want my students to have these watercolor sets so they can experience painting nature while in nature.

It is an experience unlike any other. The watercolor paint sets and brushes will make this dream come true. The brushes will also be used in numerous other painting projects in my other art classes.
