My Students

Help our journey into technology! Our class would love to utilize the building's new document camera. Since we only have a chalkboard, we are unable to do this.

I have 21 bright, creative children in my kindergarten class.

More than half of them speak a language other than English at home. Our school as a whole has a very large ESL population. We also have a large amount low income families. The children and families in the community are amazing and do what ever they can to support the school.

My Project

Because of our large low income population, we have struggled to keep up in this age of technology. The building has managed to get a few pieces that are shared throughout the school, but many require a white board. A few of the classrooms do not have one, mine being one of them. This will impact my ESL students immensely. Having the opportunity to see what is expected of them in such an efficient way will improve their learning. The children will be able to utilize this board right away with the help of the markers I am also requesting. The children participate in small group learning centers daily and this could be one more experience for them. They can list sight words, practice their handwriting, or even play one of our many magnetic educational games.

This is just the beginning of how I would like to improve my students' school experience.

Without this piece of equipment, we can't use the technology or have learning experience I would like to share with my students. Thank you for you time and consideration.
