Second grade is such a wonderful year of learning. We have so many different types of learners with many different needs. I have had the privilege of teaching students with Autism, Gifted & Talented, students with ADHD, students who receive Speech & Language Services, and students who are considered typically developing. We have a diverse set of needs that need to be met every day.
My students have unique traits and backgrounds and when we come together they make our classroom feel like a family.
I am so excited for the learning that my students will show this year. They will learn to take time to do quality work and let their effort shine. These kids come from families who support and nurture their creative drive and give them the tools they need to be successful later in their education and life.
My Project
It's the middle of the school year and it's easy to assume that classrooms have what they need to make it to summer. Our students are still learning, so they need more supplies to finish the school year strong!
My students need wireless mice, books, and art supplies to get us to the end of the school year successfully.
Right now my class is SO EXCITED to read the Dog Man series, so I made sure to get a few of each book so that many of my students can continue their love for reading. Our mice are currently in a tangled heap on our technology table, so wireless mice will make their learning space less cluttered and easier for them to take care of. The other miscellaneous supplies will help enrich our art time and give students opportunities to creatively express themselves. They LOVE writing with teacher pens, so I'm including some for them to use when they correct their own work!
