My Students

I teach in a low socioeconomic area in the heart of our city in Alabama. My students come to me daily, ready to learn and eager to please their teacher by doing their best work. My students work super hard, and they are excited to learn and grow. I provide many resources myself for my classroom due to low funding.

My students are a wonderful group of children and they deserve the world.

I want my students to look forward to coming to school and not come just because they have to. Building relationships with my students is something I take to heart. At eight and nine years old, they go through some hardships outside of school, but they are always excited to come to school to learn and do their best. They all have a dream to be successful one day. They inspire me to do better as a teacher and I am proud to call them my students.

My Project

The Apple Keyboard will help the students use the classroom iPad for word processing, creating and presenting PowerPoint presentations, and make interacting with other learning apps more productive. Adding a physical keyboard to the iPad increases each student's ability to type quicker. When the iPad on-screen keyboard is activated, half of the screen is gone.

My students are practicing their typing skills during class.

The Keyboard allows the students to see the entire screen while typing. When the students use an app like Google Docs, being able to see more of the screen is a huge feature. The Keyboard is more comfortable for the students when they are working for longer periods of time. The Apple Keyboard is also easy to remove when the students want to just use the iPad as a tablet.
