My students need wire to create beautiful and exciting sculptures that demonstrate their skills in 3D Studio Art for a high Advanced Placement score.

Do you remember the first time someone really noticed one of your talents? My Advanced Placement Studio Art students have amazing talent. In order to showcase their talent, help them earn college credit and have impressive work to show as they apply to college, they need more types of materials.
My students are hardworking inner city students in a public school with the desire to learn and do all that they can!
My creative art loving, poverty level students include 3 sections of Art 1 and 2 Advanced Placement (AP) Studio Art, which has Three Dimensional sculpture as a portfolio option. Our high school is in a high-need community in an inner city school. These 11th and 12th grade students do not have the resources to buy their own supplies, and my budget is limited. These students love art and hope to go on to college and major in an art-related field. My students need scholarships in order to attend college, and if they can score between 3-5 on their AP portfolio they can receive college credit and will need a little less in scholarship funds. The school does not have the funds necessary to allow my students to explore a variety of media in Art 1 or in Advanced Placement Studio Art.
My students need wire to create beautiful and exciting sculptures that demonstrate their skills in Three Dimensional Studio Art for a high Advanced Placement score. Having access to a wider variety of supplies will bring them a step closer to their dream. You will make it possible for my students to experience a greater part of the engaging, hands-on format of visual art by enabling them to work with wire based on their study of the sculpture of famous artists Richard Hunt and Alexander Calder.
Your donation will fund the materials to excite my students' imagination, and reinforce their interest as they increase their skill levels.
In an age of standardized tests my students have a chance to earn college credit as they use their critical thinking skills in the creation of art. Please help me provide them with not only an outlet for their creative visual expression but also a step in the direction of college which gives them a chance for a better future.
