I believe that the best way for children to learn is through "hands-on" experiences! In my art class, I strive to provide my students with many hands-on opportunities to explore, problem-solve, and create!
My students are very creative thinkers and enthusiastic learners!
I teach approximately 550 students (K-6 grade). I aim to provide my students with projects that challenge them to think creatively and to explore through hands-on experiences in art class. My students are always up for the challenge and approach these projects with curiosity and enthusiasm.
My Project
Students will use these materials to create a variety of 3D wire sculptures. These sculptures will reinforce the elements of Art; including line, shape, texture, and form. I will introduce a variety of sculptures and discuss the difference between 2D and 3D art. Students will then experiment making their own 3D sculpture with various types of wires. Students will be very enthusiastic about creating their sculptures and be able to take these sculptures home with them!
Having the exposure to a variety of 3D materials will allow my students to explore and create in new and exciting ways!
This experience will help them grow and expand not only their creativity but also their critical thinking skills. Working with new materials will also create enthusiasm and increase participation for upcoming projects in Art class.
