Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is filled with eager and ready-to-learn students! We have built and fostered an environment where kids can feel safe and loved. Our school is not located in the safest part of the city, but our school has provided a safe place for our kids. We have Saturday and Sunday recreational activities that provide a safe place for kids to play.
Although these children come from all aspects of life, this does not define who they can become.
We have students who come from homeless shelters, programs, single family homes, farm-worker parents and foster care. Although they have many obstacles in their life, a barrier to receiving a proper education is not one of them.
My Project
My students need two magnetic whiteboards for small group instruction. Both magnetic whiteboards will be used for small group stations. These whiteboards will provide a tool for teaching when going over phonics patterns, writing and math.
These whiteboards will also provide hands on instruction for my kids to practice versus using paper and pencil materials.
I want my students to have engaging lessons and these magnetic whiteboards will provide the support we need. My aides and myself will be able to have students work a problem on the whiteboard as well as having review materials up when they are taking a test. Additionally, during these test, my students need privacy dividers to help them focus.
