My Students
Being a one-room school house, the students here are very lucky to be able to spend time not only in the classroom, but outside as well. We are outside all year long, exploring the brook, woods, and animals that are in our backyard.
All of our students love being outdoors and have a wonderful appreciation for nature.
They are excited to explore the natural world and learn about the science of nature. They have curious minds and a love of learning.
My Project
Winter in the mountains can be long and cold and we go outside for a recess break at least twice a day, everyday. Once the snow hits, our playground quickly becomes very limited. Sledding is a favorite among all of our students, no matter their age.
New winter recess equipment will allow our students to enjoy the outdoors and get all their wiggles out, which in turn, allows for a more focused learning time indoors.
Our current sleds are a few years old and very much loved, however they are becoming cracked and unsafe for our young students. Please help us not only keep them safe, but let them enjoy the outdoors and play while they still can.
