Thanks to a generous bond issue, our building is undergoing a vast structural and safety overhaul. Because of this, we are housed in a temporary building where there are not a lot of luxuries! We are missing our home school and the comforts of our regular classrooms.
This year, I have had an awesome opportunity to return to primary teaching in 3rd grade!
This is exciting to me because I have worked with this group of students in the past as a substitute, and have the great pleasure of teaching them again.
My class started the year with someone else, and now that I have taken over, we are building our new and improved team with an emphasis on character, compassion, and caring. While we may be a small group this year, our focus on improving our achievement, our behavior, and our relationships is mighty!
My Project
I recently became the permanent teacher to a wonderful group of third graders. The only problem is, there were no games, puzzles or activities left behind from their previous teacher. Not only that, but the weather is changing fast and we are looking ahead to many long days with no outside playtime!
I want to give my students more opportunities to practice patience, teamwork, compassion, and problem-solving through their play.
The materials I am asking for - games, puzzles, and Legos - will help my class become better at cooperating, problem-solving, and learning to play together with respect. Let's play!
