Exceptional learners are what we are in our classroom. The fifth graders in our classroom all work at their own pace while the teachers guide them to learn through different project-based learning opportunities in all academic areas including math, reading, science, and social science.
Twenty-four young minds from all walks of life come together each day to learn and grow as fifth-grade students.
In our classroom, there are students who have special educational needs, medical needs, behavior modification needs, and language learner needs.
My Project
Let's practice those social and emotional skills through engaging play! As winter starts to set in, outdoor recess will not always be an option. The checkers, board games, and Skip-Bo games, and bean bag chairs will allow for the students to comfortably work on their SEL skills while working with others by playing games in a fun, structured setting. Students will be able to learn how to collaborate effectively towards a common goal with a team and communicate their thoughts and ideas while playing. These are skills that are taught in lessons and then practiced with games.
