Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 7th and 8th graders at a dual-language school in Boston. My students have been taught in both English and Spanish since kindergarten. They are very thoughtful and constantly diving into learning while taking on leadership in the classroom.
They love to explore new ideas, cultures, and concepts each and every day.
I am lucky to explore with them through my humanities course. They are a wonderful group of students that see their individual success wrapped up in the success of others in the class. They work together and are extremely compassionate.
My Project
Students in our school need access to warm jackets for the upcoming winter. My students are constantly growing and outgrowing their clothing. I am fundraising for students to have access to a new warm and fitting jacket. I believe that if all students have access to warm clothing they will be more comfortable throughout their day. In addition, staying warm will ensure students are less likely to catch a cold too and from school, which will overall help them stay safe from illness.
Warm students are healthy students!
Providing these students with a new warm jacket will make a world of difference. If students can get a new warm and fitting jacket, we know they will also be more successful throughout their school day. Thank you so much in advance for helping students stay warm and healthy throughout their day.
