This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Warm winter hats are an essential item to keep children warm during the winter season. Very few of my students own proper attire for the weather, especially when it is wet from snow and/or sleet outside.

My students need yarn, looms, and other supplies to make their own warm hats for comfort and warmth to travel to and from school.

Students cannot learn when their bodies don't feel safe and taken care of. These clothing items will be created by the students for them to cherish forever! When a student creates their own items, they take more pride and put more care into using them. A warm head allows students to focus on their school learning without having to worry about being cold.
