This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

So I decided to try a small project earlier in the year that would allow us to garden in the winter. I thought it would be interesting to grow mushrooms during the cold fall and winter months. Admittedly I knew nothing about this and had to reach out to some co workers for help, but we have had so much fun learning about this I want to keep it going!

Friday we left school and not much was happening in our grow tent, but Monday when we came back POOF!

Like magic we had a huge bunch of mushrooms! It was super exciting! I need to find some sort of time lapse camera going forward, I mean it was pretty amazing to see this morning! This project is just more growing supplies! It is also a great way to help us promote healthy eating and the importance of growing our own food!
