My Students
As a coach in a Title I school it is difficult for us to get a lot of the equipment we need to be competitive in our softball league. Money is not abundant in our school or students households. The girls I coach are all hard working dedicated individuals who want nothing more than to compete at the highest level possible.
The majority of our players come from households where both parents work and they still find time to come to our games and cheer on their kids.
My Project
My players are all hard working and dedicated athletes but lack some of the equipment needed in order to get to the next level. In the two years I have been coaching these players we have reached the Philadelphia Public League playoffs twice and lost one year in the championship and once in the semi-finals.
We have one goal in mind this year and that is to get over the hump and win the Public League.
I am doing everything I can to give the girls a pitching machine and practice net that will allow them to have practices that are beneficial and useful. The equipment I have asked for will do that for these athletes.
