Winning at Robotics

Help me give my students some charging cords to help charge their robot batteries and controllers. I would also like the laminator and pouches to make students special awards with their pictures and certificates.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I began teaching at MCTS by choice because I felt my abilities would be more beneficial within a middle school setting. Within my school, 80% to 90% of my students are reading at least two levels below their current grade level, and math performance is at least one or more grade levels below.

With or without questionable school rankings and grading legislation, the MCTS has performed in the bottom tier of schools statewide for many years.

The physical structure of the building needs a great deal of repair, if not rebuilding. MCTS also has a major challenge with little to no parent participation.

My goal is to inspire the next generation of doctors, lawyers, and entrepreneurs to be problem solvers, regardless of circumstances. I am so excited to be bringing robotics to our school and hope that, through this opportunity, I can show the students that they are capable of greater things and that their ideas could truly make a difference. At their very first competition ever, they received 2 awards and an invitation to state, and I want to help them continue to grow into an amazing program!

My Project

I am so proud of my robotics class and would love to be able to create special awards for them. They have worked so hard and performed so well at their competition, and I want to do something for them to so that their parents can proudly display their accomplishments.

I would like to use the pictures from the local competition and the certificate they received when winning locally or possibly at the state competition to create and present an award for them.

This award would be presented to them at a party for all their accomplishments at the school.
