My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

We have an inviting classroom with a comfortable home-like feeling and lucky to have huge walls of windows to let in lots of natural light.

We love the natural light, however, when direct sunlight comes in, sometimes it is too bright and hot to work. We have no air conditioning in my classroom and opening the doors is not always an option.

My Project

We have an old classroom with large windows and the sunlight shines in creating a distracting glare and heating up the classroom. (Also birds hit the windows!) We do not have air conditioning so on warm days it is too hot to focus and get schoolwork done well. The windows are very high up in the room, and curtains would be difficult to put up to open and close.

We thought of using window vinyl as a way to let some light in but block some of the direct sunlight that causes uncomfortable glare and heat in the classroom.

The requested window vinyl clings to the glass and is a non-permanent solution that the school allows. Curtains would require a permanent change to the classroom.
