My Students

Inspired composers, passionate instrumentalists, expert collaborators fill my NYC music classroom.

My 4th and 5th grade band students span the globe both culturally and musically.

China, Ecuador, Bangladesh, Mexico, and Puerto Rico are just some of the places my students call their country of origin. And in my band we explore the world through music. Our repertoire includes song from Liberia, Cuba, Appalachia as well as original compositions.

Curious musicians open their clarinet, trumpet, and saxophone cases and discover their song.

My Project

New wind instruments will give more students an opportunity to learn how to play. It will also give them the amazing experience of being in a band.

Our school band is small but growing.

We have some trumpets, saxophones, clarinets and flutes but they are old and in need of repair. Because of this limited number of instruments, few student are able to participate and learn the awesome skill of playing music in a wind band.

My students do not own their own instruments and many cannot afford a brand new clarinet or flute. A few new instruments will give them a chance to learn and help our band program continue to grow.
