My Students

Trying to close the achievement gap in elementary school is very difficult. Every year the stakes go up and every year my students strive to do their very best! My students come from a variety of ethnic and economic backgrounds. We also have a large population of students with learning disabilities that struggle to keep up and need extra support to level the playing field.

Regardless of their economic or ethnic status, they are all are so excited to learn everything I present to them, and they take such great pride in their learning.

I love to see the light go on in their eyes when they understand a new concept or master a new skill or strategy. They make my job so rewarding!

My Project

My students absolutely love the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books and they are always asking me for more. They are always checked out of our school library as well and there is a lengthy waiting list.

These books are a favorite among most kids and they are very beneficial in getting reluctant readers to pick up a book and learn to love reading.

I want to add all 11 books to my library to open those doors for my students. These books will be well received and very much appreciated by each and every student in both of my classes.
