My Students
My students are the group of smartest little learners in my entire school!
They come from different backgrounds; some ride the bus in from far away neighborhoods, some live across the street, we are a blended Special Education and Bilingual classroom within a school that is 90%+ free and reduced priced lunch.
Pre-kindergarten is one of the most important grades in school. It is the time when students get hooked into education. The best way to hook them in is with adapted materials that will allow them to learn in an individualized way.
My Project
Unfortunately, the books in my library center were lost or stolen three years ago when I got my classroom. Furthermore, my district budget has been drastically cut not allowing us to get new copies. After three years of borrowing these books from the library, my students deserve their own copies.
My students need engaging, exciting, and fantastic books to explore the units of study in our curriculum.
The bilingual books will give my bilingual, special needs students culturally enriching literacy experiences that will hook them into being bilingual learners.
