My students are the most curious, intrigued, entry-level programmer-type students that you will ever meet. They come to school smiling, ready to take on the challenges of the day. My students want to be college-ready. They have to work hard. Many of them are second language learners. All of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch, and once a month, Second Harvest brings my children nourishing fruits and vegetables. Life is not easy for them, but nothing is going to stop them from learning and being the best they can be.
My Project
The material I am requesting is a machine to make rewards and manipulatives for the students to take home and practice with and not worry about returning them. One example is the ever popular pattern sticks, where students can quickly turn to the pattern stick and find the math fact quickly. These math sticks also help with finding common denominators with fractions.
During distance learning I had made a flat teacher to mail to my students.
Unfortunately, the wildfire in California burned down my house and all the tools I used to make for all students at school. I also had made a variety of awards and cards along with pins using this machine that I could send home as nice surprises.
These are just a few of the items that have helped parents and students be in engage and help those who need the additional manipulatives. I can't wait to get another cricut machine so I can continue with my very inexpensive and very personal rewards.
