This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This year, I am teaching kindergarten through fifth grade ESOL in my new classroom. My students have challenges and need a lot of one-on-one help. The other teacher, and myself, work with groups all day. We do a lot of one-on-one teaching and modeling and spend a lot of time moving around the classroom. We try to motivate, encourage, and remediate in order to keep our class moving to meet the state's standards. We are a great team working with great students.
My Project
The summer is quickly approaching and we are in need of materials for our summer program. We need pencils, pencil pouches, erasers and composition notebooks for the summer. The pencils, pencil pouches and erasers will be used for class work and group work during our summer session.
The composition notebooks will be used to take notes during reading and math classes.
Many of the kids we serve don't have access to regular supplies and the summer is sometimes more difficult. The school supplies requested will help our students get a head start on much needed skills for the fall semester.
